Oh my... I opened up the thread and the first thing I saw was his avatar.

Thanks for taking the time Car!!! It is really great to get feedback from the family side.

After having a family member wait for organ donation, all of my family have the logo on our liscences. When my father unexpectedly passed a two years back, it was only the right thing to do to donate what we could. (The running joke was that they could take whatever they wanted, but he didnt have many healthy organs left.) Organ donation is a great thing, and unless an individual is bound by religious beliefs, it should be a standard....

Thanks Car for posting. Azoomm said it perfectly.

I don't think I've ever been moved by the passing of an online friend before. And this has been on my mind continuously since it happened. Seeing 101's screen name made me think "Too far Bill, way too far" then I see it's one of HIS family expressing their appreciation to us. Class all around.

Thanks again.

My thoughts exactly.

I figured all the pm's would provide enough notification. LOL. You volunteered.

Gas Man 10-10-2011 09:57 PM

Nah it's fine... I just didn't know I actually got elected... LOL

We only vote on meaningless stuff here. It's to feint a democracy, when in reality it's a authoritarian rule. You were appointed, sucker. :nee:

Gas Man 10-10-2011 10:16 PM

It's fine... honestly...

quackPOT 10-10-2011 11:58 PM

Terrible news :(

RIP

With 101lifts in mind

My name is dianna, one of Bills sisters. I am impressed and overwhelmed with the camaraderie shown within the bike community. It makes me proud of my little brothere that he had such a network of friends and aquaintences (even if you always did not agree!). Even for those that never met him personally, but still send kind words our way...thank you.

I plan to speak at his funeral this Thursday in Illinois. I will let everyone know how great it was to hear from all of you on this and other forums! I want to be able to talk about Bill's love for riding. I know he loved to ride the Ortega highway because he loved to do that lean thing when you turn...what is that called?
This has been a difficult time for our family, it helps us to heal knowing Bill was doing what he loved and living life to the fullest. He was a very kind and generous soul. He planned to donate a kidney to a friend in need. Did not have the chance to do this. Make sure that if you do anything, you have your donor sticker on you license, so others can live on through you if something were to ever happen.

Blessings,
Dianna

Thanks so much for coming here, Dianna. Sorry it took awhile to get this post approved, had a busy day at work and apparently none of the other mods caught it either. :nee:

Your brother was an amazing person. He will be very much missed.

I am sorry for your family's loss and will be thinking of you guys.

Lean is fine or you can say dragging a knee.

Gas Man 10-11-2011 08:49 PM

Thanks so much Dianna for posting here. It means an absolutely so much to us.

I want you to know that we are taking up a collection and are going to make another donation to your family charity in Bill's honor.

Wow. I mean just wow. That is one hell of a friend right there.

I'll be going to California (near Huntington beach) proably within the next 6 months. I'll make sure to visit this man's grave. Then give him 20 push-ups :101:

HurricaneHeather 10-11-2011 10:28 PM

No doubt you had an amazing brother, Dianna. Thanks for taking the time to post up for us.

Gas Man 10-14-2011 02:03 AM

Ladies and Gents.... how long do we want to leave the collection open? I've had a few ask...

Trip 10-14-2011 07:56 AM

End of next week, let's say friday at 3pm. I will post an announcement.

Hetare 10-14-2011 05:48 PM

Hi,

Although I had lost contact with him, I have known 101 since he was on SBN with another user name and was still in Michigan. I joined this forum mostly because of the donation I would like to make. But since I just joined, I do not have a privilege to send a PM. How should I handle?

Gas Man 10-14-2011 08:20 PM

Go ahead and email me and I will get you my PayPal info.

As I mentioned in my previous message, I can't. Maybe I shouldn't post it here, but this is what I get when I try:

Hetare, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

was92v 10-14-2011 10:22 PM

I was sorry to hear of 101's passing. RIP man.

Gas Man 10-14-2011 11:28 PM

Don't worry about that... it's because your membership wasn't approved yet.

Trip 10-15-2011 11:21 AM

You should be able to pm now hetare. You just have to have your first post approved.

I just sent you a PM. Thank you for doing this.

Gas Man 10-24-2011 09:44 PM

Closing the collection.

If you haven't donated, contact me before lunch, if you were "mailing" me a check, contact me again for arrangements.

Gas Man 11-15-2011 06:20 AM

The donation was made for $530 to One Legacy in honor of Bill aka 101lifts.

I got this letter back from One Legacy, blurred out a bit of it out for online posting reasons... DUH!

Thanks to everybody that helped!

Racerboy 05-13-2012 03:42 AM

Its been a while since being on the boards and after signing on this evening I saw that Bill had passed back in October....as late as this may be, my heart goes out to all who know him as well as his family. It's always challenging to accept the loss of a extended motorcycle family member.

R.I.P Bill
