In Germany it is illegal to run out of gas, usually only enforced on the autobahn however.

I didn't run out on the road, I felt the loss of power and pulled into a city park park lot. The cop happened to be there.

Not sure if its a count down but when the light comes on the odometer goes to zero and starts counting up so you know how many miles you have ridden on reserve.

I just usually look at my odometer and see where Im at mileage wise when I get gas...Its simple math...Add on about 130 Miles to your Odo and thats when you should start looking for gas...We'll for me anyway.

I've done that but the number somehow evaporates after the first cager tries to kill me :lol:

before a fairly long trip i always gas up anyway, but so far ive gone as far as 21miles once the reserve light comes on.
