A downside? When this puppy's fuel tank is full don't get it leaning far to the side with your boot on a gravel surface sloping away. Did this while tilting the bike over between the legs for a better book photo. Boot started slipping down the right side slope, the bike heavily and quickly started falling towards the side of the slipping boot. I threw the camera (a sacrificial act), grabbed the bars, the boot caught traction (very fortunately), and saved/righted with serious grunt force what could have been a nasty accident.

"Supertanker"? How about "Stratotanker"

Trip, you should make up some vinyl for him- saying "KC-135" "Stratotanker" and make up some tail numbers too. He could run around refueling other bikes :rockwoot:

Depending on the riding really. I've seen tanks go as low as 130, and I've also stretched tanks out past 200.

If its an aggressive riding day then the gas goes fast, just cruising down the highway at 55 then it wont be as thirsty.

same here.

Because that isn't uncommon, just a standard GSA. You need to see the one drewpy's dad has...that's the super tanker. It's got like side cases of fuel that funnel in to the main tank. He can literaly refuel other bikes wiht it. I think he can do an iron butt without stopping or close to it.

Dayum! My be-hind and my gas tank are in perfect synch.

90-100 I look for gas. 120-130 is probably get off the bike and push time. 3.6 gal tank.. when I fill up about 2-2.5 goes back in.

I drilled out the resonators a while back, so mpg took a slight hit from that. About to do some maintenance on the bike this weekend though, so hopefully I can get a bit more out of it.

I get around 250 km.

250 km = 155 miles

180-190 km = 112-118 miles

That's the Green River on its way to the Dinosaur National Monument, and a few miles away this pic was taken as the Green enters the Monument at the stunning Gates of Lodore. The raft in the image was one of three on their way into the Monument for a three day trip of whitewater and riverside camping. Dang.

I don't see any pictures - just a broken image.
edit - NOW the picture shows up.

I have no idea how many miles I get from a tank, probably 150 miles or so.

For just normal everyday riding, my reserve bars come on at exactly 150 miles +/- 2 miles.... every single time. I can go comfortably for another 30-35 miles, and it takes 4.3 gal to fill up (4.8 gal tank). If I go slow and stretch it I can go over 200, but I usually fill up around 170-180, sooner if I'm in a desolate area of course

Where was the pic taken?

I'll admit it: I'm jealous as all hell.

You didn't specify car or bike. I get close to 400 miles before empty.
