'09 V-Strom (Wee) - Need some opinions
1 Attachment(s)
I posted this on ADV as well but I wanted to yet the opinion of the people here as well since some of you I've posted with for years.
I love my 2003 SV650S but I went to buy some chain wax today and came across a brand new 2009 DL-650 V-Strom for 6k out the door (less if I trade my SV in which I would need to do since I don't have room for 2 bikes). It's the "orange" color and it's freakin' gorgeous. I've had my SV for 6 years and I love it dearly but the V-Strom is more in-line with my riding style and it has a much better 2-up setup for my wife (who likes riding but isn't all that fond of the SV's passenger set or peg position). Ack! What to do!!!! |
life is short, you work hard each day, YOU like the bike and can get the deal you desire, what's the problem again???? How many miles on your SV?

More in the past couple of years because I finally started modifying it to be more comfortable on longer rides. The stock riding position is horrible. |
All the cool kids are buying bikes now so you might as well go for it
Just dont tell Heather :scared: Tom |
Fuck it, buy it!!!
|
Its ugly as sin, but comfy and fun, and if its abs equipped that makes it all the more better

The place is closed until Monday. If they give me a reasonable amount for the SV I will buy the Strom. Selling an SV outright around here won't get me very far... Most people around here are looking for GSXR's or Harleys.

Those are the do it all swiss-army-knife of bikes, I think. I figured it would give up a lot 'on road', but I was extremely impressed with iDave's (from ADV) ability to ride the wheels off his and run about as quick a pace as I'm comfortable riding on the street on a supersport.
Here's my buddy Brent chasing Dave on an 05~06 Wee - 2up with clapped-out 50k stock suspension (hard to see with the extreme fish-eye of the GoPro). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdpqN8w65Hc One thing I'd highly recommend - cartridge emulators & an upgraded shock, since it's a pogo-stick in stock form (but obviously that doesn't keep a skilled rider from flogging the snot out of one ) |
