Two possibilities are
1) target fixation
2) failure to use the front brake

I was thinking the same thing, that if they use the front brake the bike will crash itself

Mr Lefty 09-19-2009 12:32 PM

fucking douche bags... I can see in a group that one or two are following too closely... or not paying attention... but fuck... the whole god damn crew?

I moved to Wilsonville right after HS... the part where they wrecked is filled with people cutting over trying to make a cut off for I205...(a by pass of portland) ALWAYS have someone cut from the far left to the far right lanes...

Brother Speed huh...:skep:

TYEster 09-19-2009 12:43 PM

"Brother Speed" needs to meet Sister Brake.

Com'on, I know harleys have them too.

pauldun170 09-19-2009 12:50 PM

:lol

Must have been hilarious to watch

101lifts2 09-20-2009 02:48 AM

Harley riders always ride side by side and in single file lines not to mention too close to each other.

Yup. Maybe not always - but the ones I've ridden sure did. Drives me batty.

I wouldn't say always... but I do enjoy riding next to the wife.

Rangerscott 09-20-2009 10:59 AM

Every time I see a harley group riding they are so damn close to each other.

Gas Man 09-20-2009 02:02 PM

Yet, everytime I ride with someone that puts a great deal of distance between us, a fuckin car sneaks in. There is a meathod to the madness at times.

Not around here. They seem to stretch on for miles with just enough space in between that if you want to pass it is nearly impossible Sure does piss me off.

On the Brother Speed website, it's self-described as "a club that is serious about brotherhood, respect, riding fast and building Choppers."
Some chopper guys will take the front brakes off and roll with just a rear drum brake :bash:

Ya I know, as was the style with the super long springer front ends and 100+wire spoke wheels.

Hey whatever floats their boat, as long as they float it into something or someone other than me.

Choppers. I'm betting they've been to this website...

I f'ing hate when we are in a group at safe distance and a car thinks it's an invitation to cut in.

1. Where can I find test data on stopping distance? back to top

At the speeds that stopping distance is generally measured from (60 to 70mph), the test is primarily testing the tire's grip on the pavement. As delivered from the manufacturer, nearly all vehicles are able to engage the ABS or lock the wheels at these speeds. Therefore, an increase in braking power will do nothing to stop the vehicle in a shorter distance. For this reason, we do not record stopping distances.
Wow.:wtfru:

Yeah, I just looked at that site, and those guys seem like they're just begging to get sued.
