TCX Boots

What do you know about these?

http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=4167

I've always trusted stg's opinion. They always say "if we won't use it, we won't sell it". :idk:

Anyone know anyone with the boots? How do they fit? Crash tested?

For $189 on closeout it seems like a pretty good deal. :?:

I don't know anything about the boots but the guys at STG are awesome. Just keep in mind that they are on closeout and you can't return them. They won't take them back so you better make sure they fit before you buy.

I have a pair of TCX boots but not the exact model pictured, in my case their size seemed to run a little big, but no biggie for me. I like mine....

Ya, I've had such trouble finding boots that fit (my foot runs the gamut from a size 39 to a 42 depending on the manufacturer) that I think I'd drive over to Michigan to try them on. Day trip!!!

New Enough has 41s for $89....

TCX used to be Oxtar and are GREAT boots. Ive had very good luck with them, as well as a number of other local racers

Yea well, I just bought a back protector for $40 from them so... Oh and Icon elbow guards for $25.

CrazyKell 01-15-2010 11:12 AM

Which back protector? I'm in the market.

Don't be cheap when it comes to a back protector.

I use the Knox Contour.

Besides this one, there are only a handful of other BP's I'd even consider.

Inferno is selling one here:

Correct. I had a pair of the Oxtar's and for the $$ I was happy with them.

marko138 01-15-2010 12:30 PM

I've been thinking about ordering these boots as well.

fnfalman 01-15-2010 01:10 PM

I like TCX (formerly known as Oxstar) boots. I have two pairs: one for touring and one for sport riding (not quite as racy). They do tend to run on the wide side though, so try on before buying.

Yea, mine retailed for just under $200. It's a couple year old model but I'm not that worried about it. besides, it better than the foam that comes in the jackets.

CrazyKell 02-05-2010 06:45 PM

Was going to head to STG to pick these up (they have them on for 189.99) but a local place had a crazy sale so I ended up getting them for $200 Canadian. :woot:

Overall the quality seems great. Just need to get used to riding in them for my first track day this season. :D
