Let me pay off my ohlins and tires before I think about that LOL

Dave 02-04-2010 07:55 PM

good lookin system

dReWpY 02-04-2010 08:58 PM

I'm looking at a barker system, looks somilar, but not a full system

Adeptus_Minor 02-04-2010 09:34 PM

I'd love one (or any exhaust upgrade) but I have other stuff tying up my cash right now :idk:

Cutty72 02-04-2010 11:31 PM

already got my drummer.

Fuck you. EBR FTW.

smileyman 02-05-2010 11:03 AM

I blew all my money on repairs. A Jardine or FMF slipon will go on this summer...along with a steering damper!

Suck it. Quality costs money.

Tmall 02-05-2010 11:40 AM

I'm ordering a race ECM off of them before the season starts.

You find you really need a damper? It's been so stable, even at speed that I really don't think it's necessary.

And the Jardine looks like poo IMO.

dReWpY 02-05-2010 12:37 PM

I think it needs a stabilizer, esp when you really get on it, I've had some nasty headshake before

I've ridden back to back against R1's and thought my bike was more stable in the same circumstances. :idk:

dReWpY 02-05-2010 12:47 PM

But did you drag knee and wheelie both?
Lol

With the current prices for Buells I would be carefully with statements like that.

dReWpY 02-05-2010 01:13 PM

I was thinking the same thing, I just didn't want to burn myself in the procdess

I have gotten some headshake and had 2 real wheelie induced tankslappers. Dont know if it woulda helped on my lowside but it sure wont hurt.

Cutty72 02-05-2010 05:26 PM

what brand ya gonna go with then?

smileyman 02-05-2010 07:16 PM

Dunno. I like the looks of both. I will look for a deal of course. I havent seen too many other slip on options...Some over in Europe i have seen in pics but not on any sales sites...

dReWpY 02-05-2010 08:05 PM

hmf is nice, but the barker is only $395

smileyman 02-05-2010 10:35 PM

What do you think of the Barker? Quality/Sound?

There's an entire thread on it at Buelletinboard.

Anyone who claims 17hp from a slip-on and a K&N is selling something.

Oh wait, he is THE distributor for that exhaust?

:lol

smileyman 02-06-2010 04:26 PM

Oh damper...GPR makes a new model that will fit. I have had no troubles from the GPR on my 636. But the Buell unit is the same price from EBR. I may do the loyalty thing and support em. Specially if i can afford a kit ECM to match.

Supposably its been backed by the dyno, so who knows, it looks good and is louder then my stocker, that's all I care about

smileyman 02-06-2010 05:28 PM

The latest issue of Motorycylist they bolted an FMF slip on to their 1125CR. It got 5 hp thru out the range. It comes with a baffle for street Db levels if you want quiet. Still a pricey peice.

On the plus side i scored a set of Contisport Attacks for 254 shipped.

dReWpY 02-06-2010 05:30 PM

There is a guy with a cf jardine for 450 on buelliten board fyi

smileyman 02-06-2010 05:40 PM

I do love me some CF. But I have to wait till i have the bike back to 100 pct and get the dealer paid. Eventually. I also have to replace my gloves and boots...Already got a bargain helmet, a KBC VR2. For a buck forty with a spare mirror sheild.

dReWpY 02-06-2010 06:12 PM

I'm really looking forward to gettin the barker put on, but I'm holding out for after the trip, its looking to cost me a cool 2k for this one trip alone

smileyman 02-06-2010 09:52 PM

Yeah I got a huge windfall and I'd love to go crazy but my job is kinda iffy, so i am paying off all my medical stuff and my wife's T Blazer just be be sure. My bikes will get what attention I can give em but the 5 year old needs a swingset.

Tree + rope + old tire = swing. Trust me, it works.

problem solved, sounds like someone needs to buy an exhaust

Cutty72 02-07-2010 04:13 AM

truth.

Would be awesome in a year or two if we could get 3, 4, 5 1125's together with different exhausts to get a live comparo.

Hopefully later in the year I can think about giving the buell some love. Got a lot of othe rprojects ahead of that right now so I gotta keep working the extra hours. An exhaust would be nice though to piss off my neighbors LOL

dReWpY 02-07-2010 04:46 AM

I have my heart set on a 370 hp mod to my current situation.....

smileyman 02-07-2010 01:47 PM

You know we could do an all Buell ride in. Does Buell have its own annual get together? Maybe the Buell forum does a Dragon event?

smileyman 02-07-2010 01:52 PM

BTW I have 4 trees in my yard, none big enough to hang a jacket in much less a tire swing. however when i do get a frame up I have a Pirelli Strada rear takeoff that will do wonderfully!

And makes a good target for the budding QB in the family.

They do. There's a rally at the Gap...it's April this year. And the annual Homecoming in June...which is in East Troy.

smileyman 02-07-2010 06:11 PM

cool. Wonder if their are cool roads near E. Troy? I'd like to see EBR in person.

The FMF pipe? Well styling hasnt struck me on any of the pipes. The Barker looks good, the side mount FMF and Jardine are just kinda tacked on like an after thought. The bottom line is no one will see it long enough to form an opinion as I strafe by, but sound and weight reduction will be my priorities...

Dave 02-07-2010 06:44 PM

good point

:dthumb:

The 1125 (umm.. most Buells) are odd birds for exhaust setup anyway... might as well go for what really counts.
