Alpinestars size 60 WTF?
Bare in mind I've never tried on A* jackets before. I go into a local dealer and try on some A* jackets. I first try on the 56 thinking it might be a little tight. Nope, way too tight, I can't zip it up passed mid chest. So I pick up a 58, still too tight. I can zip it all the way up but it's just too tight. So then I try on the 60 and alas a nice fit. I know it's Euro sizing but I ain't that fucking big. What gives, Are all A* gear that small? I know their gloves run small but their entire line?

Edward, tell your wife to stop cooking and start copulating! Na A* is small but I wear a 58..... Heck, O got you beat though... I wear a 36x34 in every type of jeans I own, including Icon, Sliders and Shift. I buy 3 pairs of Speed and Strength jeans on clearance from CompAcc in a 38x34 because the comments say they run small...way too tight! Like lay on the bed and suck it in tight. I had to *gasp* order a pair of 40x34s....fatty, fatty, fatty!!!

Crap - This reminds me, my Alpine* jacket is getting pretty damn old. Been wearing it since 2002.
Gonna check the size on it when I get home. |
They claim their Italian size 60 is equivalent to a US size 47 and change.
|
Its like he said, 50 us is 60 eruo

I think their sizing runs small. I've never had any of their stuff but I've heard this from other people. |
Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.

The arms on their jackets run way too long IMO.

He's not fat, he's fluffy!
A stars runs small. I run small, they run smaller. I finally had to sell my pants because they were squeezing the life out of me. The next size up is too big. My leathers look like they are painted on. |

My first one was small on me since I tried to guess from the charts without trying it on. But my current a* jacket fits great and its only a 52 euro and Im 5'10" and 180.

Mine is a 46 USA \ 56 Euro

For the "60 is a 50" crowd look at Astars sizing chart. They claim their 60 is for a 47 1/4 chest size.

It may be a recent change but those are the sizes they are claiming now and Rider's experience seems to confirm it.

I wear a size 60 suit and it's TIGHT in the chest/shoulders/arms. My actual upper torso measurement is 49in "unflexed".
The sleeves I did have to get altered so that they weren't covering my hands, but that seemed to be a simple fix at a legit alterations place. |
Alpinestars leathers don't fit me right either. If I buy the suit large enough to fit my chest & shoulders, it's sagging around my waist. I'm talking about a good 4"-6" of room. I have to buy Joe Rocket stuff because it fits me better.

my A* jacket was a 56 I believe... can't remember though... it fit perfectly... A* stuff seems to be built for the tall and lanky... good for me

What he said. I'm 6'0 and 160 and my RS Taichi jacket fits great. They are definitely Japanese shaped and sized.

Rider... what or why are you looking at A* for riding on your star? Honestly?
Few suggestions Consider riding position.. you don't want some rocket jacket to rider your cruiser... it will suck. Check out powertrip, fox creek leather, vanson, or even the HD store. Even better. Get a Brooks jacket (25 yr warrenty). Buy it at the shop down here, lifetime warrenty! Speaking of which. Its called A&M Leather on Eureka Rd. Just outside the airport. Little shop. Ran by old school bikers. Sell and service many leathers. A good American leather jacket will always be WAY WAY nicer than that china and packistan leather. HUGE BETTER! But it will cost ya $400. I could show you the difference. I have a Brooks leather jacket. I have a cheap crap vest, that I want to replace with a Brooks leather vest. Just haven't spent the $140+ to get it. |
Plus one on the Powertrip leather.
|
The wife's infamous pink leathers are PowerTrip. They are good for china made. They don't hold a candle to my Brooks in quality dept but they are decent.

Somebody been eatin' too many Ding-Dongs.
See if anyone's willing to try and wrestle the fork from ya, big guy. |

Don't get it twisted... I luv A* stuff. For riding sportbikes you simply can't go wrong.
Understanding that the differences in riding and needs from gear is completely different. OK I know... you NEED it to protect your skin. I get that. But comfort is different. And a great deal of HD jackets have armor in it. My Brooks doesn't, just some padding and extra leather. Heck HD even has road resistant sweatshirt type material that is also rain resistant as well. |

Why would you ever get a jacket without armour?

they run small when I try stuff on from them - but then again, I'm a fatass (see my sig though :D)

I just picked up my MotoGP jacket and let me tell you those things were not built for "the girls". Smoosh-boob.

If I buy it to fit my shoulders with armour, then the waist of the jacket is way too small. If I buy it to fit my waist, then the shoulders don't fit. The elbow armour has to go too, doesn't fit my forearms.. |

Oh ya, fits perfect everywhere...just some boob squishing. But love the jacket otherwise. :) |
