I Need Helping Finding This
Okay I have pretty much been in love with the Icon Decay series of products since i fist saw it. I have the Icon Hooligan Decay Jacket and i've been saving for the Helmet to match. But i've always wanted my bike to match the gear as well. Not just the same color but actually match. And this is what i want. Firstly i need to find this Vinyl Decal so i can accomplish this. If anyone has any idea where i may be able to order this please let me know. I am seriously CRAZY about this set up lol.

Hoping to find a cheaper helmet on ebay or something, haven't really looked due to a financial crunch recently. aka new bike lol. http://www.gpmotoparts.com/image.php?type=P&id=16858 http://www.dirtshopthailand.com/imag...lmet.black.jpg |
Just make sure you don't fall down in Icon gear...

My first winter jacket was an icon jacket. It has held up from regular wear and tear as any other non leather jacket I have owned. I would trust it more in a crash than my joe rocket jacket.
You don't see people wearing first gear stuff in moto gp either, but they are more than acceptable for street use. So that answer is just plain dumb. |

I think you will find a lot of people will argue with you there. My first gear gloves are top notch. Personally I have had a lot of shit on my alpinestars fail and be worthless shit after a season without a crash.

I've seen quite a bit of Icon gear fall apart pretty badly in street crashes down here. Especially the textile crap. It seems to be fashion before function... |

Well from my personal experience with the Icon Hooligan Decay jacket it is top notch. True its not a leather jacket and yea it might not last in a real bad crash but i have no doubt it will keep me safe in the wreck. Like i said befor i have wrecked in this jacket once before. I was on a downhill grade going about 45. I had new Michelin Pilot Activ tires on the Hyo and i had ridden almost 500 miles before attempting the curves to remove the coating on the tires but they were still slick and it wasnt gripping. I low sided slid on my back and rolled over onto my stomach then got up. Nothing happened to the jacket and i had holes in my pants but the jacket was 100% okay. I had a bruise on my elbow and one on my back right shoulder blade but nothing on the jacket. Because of this i am 100% confident in Icons quality. I have a pair of Joe Rocket Gloves and they shitted out on me in one season.

Did a search but nothing came up. Sorry. Maybe try emailing Icon?

Jacket
http://www.newenough.com/street/prot...le_jacket.html Helmet http://www.newenough.com/street/helm...le_helmet.html I wanna say they'll price match anyone. I can find out from a friend. |
Icon uses 300-grade textiles for their jackets, which is the lowest grade. You also see that in jackets like the infamous Joe Rocket Phoenix. A* and other better brands use 600-grade textiles. The best textiles use 1000-grade textiles in impact / slide areas. It's worse.
It's still better than riding in jeans and a tank-top. |

The reason you don't see Icon in racing is because they don't make track gear dudes... Why do we keep having this argument?
All Icon textile jackets aren't made with "inferior" materials... Icon makes VERY high end gear, every bit as good as A*, Teknic, Joe Rocket, etc... Ummm... who crashes more stunters or regular street riders? As I've said before, I have crashed A*s gear-fell apart, I have crashed Dainese gear-fell apart, I have an Icon Neo Daytona jacket that has been down three times and it still looks like new minus a few scratches. Is there crappy gear out there? You bet but to lump all of Icon gear in there because some of their cheaper gear isn't up to "Moto Gp standards is ludicrous to say the least. |
The only problem I have with Icon gear is most of it is tailored "casual cut"
I prefer stuff that is snug all over, for better warmth and crash protection |

I just realized earlier I used the words "Icon" and "fashion" in the same sentence....my apologies.

If you are comparing the same price point, Icon's leather is just as good as Alpinestars & Joe Rocket. Of course that's not saying much........None of those company's leather is as good as RS Taichi, Spidi, Dainese, Kushitani, Vanson.....
The thing about Alpinestars is, their cheap jackets use leather that is kind of cardboard-like. You have to spend a couple hundred more bucks to get Alpinestar's better stuff. So, no duh, a $600 Alpinestars jacket is going to have better leather than a $250-300 Icon jacket. No shit. But a $250 Alpinestars jacket isn't going to be better than a $250 Icon jacket. As for the stitching quality, who knows. As far as textile goes, I don't own any textile jackets so I can't compare them. If I was going to buy a textile jacket I'd buy a Rev'It, they are loaded with features and built really well, but most people would not be willing to pay that kind of price for a textile jacket. |
