Scorpion EXO 400
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...id-Helmet.aspx ....sample lid
I just came back from the Long Beach Motorcycle show and picked up a new Scorpion EXO 400 lid for 99 bucks. This thing fits as good as my Suomy and feels the same. I think these lids are very underrated. I'm not sure what the 700 or 1000 difference is supposed to be, but if it's venting they can keep it. I need this for quiet commuting. |
i added a chin skirt to mine, adds to the quiet and wind chill- its been my commuter for quite awhile. theyre $79-99 online tho, surprised they werent cheaper at the show
|
I love my scorpion
|
Its the same as the 7oo, just cheaper. Get the chin skirt, worth the $$$
|
I can't believe they're still selling that, they came out with it 6-7 years ago

700 and 1000 have the air bladder adjustment, 1000 has the integral retractable sun visor.
Have had 2 Scorpions, quite, comfy and feel good, best fit for my head. The only gripe I have is that the temple pads are thick, so I have to use a heavy frame for my glasses or they pinch and bend the crap out of the frames |
chin skirt goes under the chin bar, keeps wind from going up from under the chin bar, and lowers the noise inside the helmet. Its like $10, im on my cell or I would link for you, look at the scorpion website
|
I have one, it's really great but damn they are snug. The visors get dinged quickly and easily. I've seen them online for ~70 bux, prob will pick up another (in a bigger size) next time I see that.

Damn...thought I was getting a deal at 99.

I have the exo-1000. Fits nice when on, but good god it feels like I'm squeezing my head in and out of a vag. Rug burns the hell out of my ears. |
The 400 was my first helmet. I loved the anti-fog visor. But it definitely lacked venting. I discovered this once I bought a Shoei. Good budget helmet though, for sure.

Newenough has had a couple models for about 70. One of them is 50 at the moment. Nice helmets, just a wee bit weird fitting for me.

The EXO1000 has three shell sizes (XS-S, M-L, XL-XXL). While the top pads won't interchange, the cheek and ear pads will; that' how I got mine to fit right. The EXO400 - 750 use two shell sizes (S-M, L-XL) and the cheek and earpads for those will interchange as well. Just remember that the snug fit is good; just ride more so you don't have to take it off as often:idk: |
