It's the bike swap thread

Ok what TWFix member's bike do you want to take a ride on for the day? I'm calling dibbs/shotgun on Archren's Ducati 1098, a plus would be being able to sniff her seat:drool: But then again to appease G-Rex I will forego all of that seat sniffing if I can take the Busa for a days worth of touring.:rockout:

t-homo 04-14-2009 07:49 PM

I call OTB's Bimota.

Sixxxxer 04-14-2009 07:49 PM

Drewpy's RC 51

Or Anyone of FnFalmans Bikes

actually doesn't sfarson have a desmo RR??? He does have some nice ducs too.

Amber Lamps 04-14-2009 08:21 PM

Dova's MV Agusta

Archren 04-14-2009 08:27 PM

Hmm... I still haven't had the opportunity to ride a 998, so Zoomie's bike probably would top my list..

Beyond that, anyone who'd be up for letting me try out their 1125R.

And I'm going to let Tracy handle the seat sniffing... :lmao: Me, I'm happy to just ride the bike.. my face isn't going near anyone's seat. :panic:

 It's up to her whether you get dibbs on the 1098, but I'm callin' dibbs on any seat sniffing. :D I already get to ride the 1098 whenever I want, so that one can't be on my list. :D

As for the Busa, we might be able to come to an agreement, but if you're taking the Busa for a day of touring, it had better come back with at least 1000 more miles on it or I will forever ridicule you on TWF.

Let's see. I'd have to go with Dova's MV. Is it Cutty? I think that has the 1125R? I wouldn't mind giving one of those a go.

ericr 04-14-2009 09:13 PM

I'm easy, any type of bike I've never ridden, so that's a good number of them here :D

Porkchop 04-14-2009 09:41 PM

Antwanny's ZX-10

101lifts2 04-14-2009 10:28 PM

I thought this was a thread about actually trading bikes forever. Dammit.

I'll take a Duc 1098 and one of those new BMW sportbikes.

rogue 04-14-2009 10:34 PM

Who's got a Speed Triple? :D

Or a Gas Gas? :D

I would ask about the B-King, but I doubt I could pick it off the kickstand.

I'd love try try almost any dual sport and supermotos! :rockout:

I did sit on a friend's new (to him) '06 Gix 1000 and freakin' fell in love! The seat isn't as wide as mine which means I can get the balls of both feet down for once! The seating position didn't feel near as aggressive as the R6 I sat on a few months ago....and OMFG that bike felt LIGHT! :rockwoot:

Is the 600's identical to the 1000's like that? I'd love to ride one! :D

JARVIS518 04-14-2009 10:37 PM

I want to swap for part of a ride with Drewpy... just to compare the big Suzi twin to the RC...

JoJoYZF 04-14-2009 10:45 PM

Over200s crazy ass turbo busa that goes well over 200mph, just because it would scare the hell out of me but also be the ride of my life.

My best friend had an RC with a set of Jardines and a Power Commander. You will be sorely disappointed and want your TLR back in short order.

The RC was one of those bikes that just didn't live up to it's billing to me. The brakes kicked ass, but that was bout all I can say good about it.

ontwo 04-14-2009 10:48 PM

Marko or Cutty's Buells because I've never ridden one, and I'm curious as to whether I would like one someday

Dave 04-14-2009 11:02 PM

I thought about the V-Max but to tell you the truth, and this may sound stupid. I'm afraid that they have engineered all of the character out of the bike. I owned an '88 and totally loved it! It's a close tie between that bike and my '01 GSXR for my favorite bike of all time. The old school V-Max was just gnarly to ride and required complete throttle control ( and a complete lack of sense) to ride fast. I about shit my pants several times on that bike but I've never had a larger or stupider grin on my face since.

no idea, but i still think it'd be fun to try out and if i didnt like it it would flip for enough to snag a new zed ten with mods. win/win in my book

Mrs. Colleen 04-14-2009 11:27 PM

Nobody wants to trade for my 17 year old star covered FZR?

Honestly...I am too scared to even ride my husband's bike so as much as I would love to TRY a 1098 (or any Ducati) I would be too scared. :leaving:

I guess that could be an even trade, your 1098 for the 1125.

If I had to pick though, I'd probably say sfarson's (I think) MV.

I can't believe how popular my bike is!

I believe Sfarson has or at least at one time had an MV Agusta F4. That's what I want to ride. I'd also love the ride Archeren's 1098.. Somebody go out and buy an Aprilia RSV4 so I can ride that.

Don't be skeered... The only thing to be afraid of is getting addicted to the pasta crack.

CrazyKell 04-15-2009 09:27 AM

I'm going to have to go with Tmall's Buell (looks fun as hell!) or Zoomie's 998.

z06boy 04-15-2009 09:53 AM

I'll just name what type of bike I'd like to ride besides my own.

09 R1

Ducati 1098 and 1198

Buell 1125

MV Augusta

Harley V-Rod

That's about it. I've ridden most other bikes I'd be interested in riding or at least what I can currently think of.

Oh yeah nhgunnut's Turbo Hayabusa was fun to ride...I'd like to ride it again.

His Ducati 999r was cool too but I actually enjoyed the Busa more. :idk:

I'd take the RC for a spin.

dReWpY 04-15-2009 01:46 PM

a bone stock rc is pretty much a ok ride, it takes some mods to wake it up, most of them are free or atleast cheap

Can't do much about the weight though..

dReWpY 04-15-2009 01:54 PM

the weight isnt that bike of a deal on this bike, sure it cant be flicked about as easly as a lightweight 600, but it holds its line like a champ, is completly confident in the corners, esp high speed sweepers

The F800 is the bike I want to ride. We have talked about taking me to the park and ride since someone will have to catch the bike when I stop. I can't even get one foot to touch.

Tommymac's TLS. (I never should have sold mine.)

fnfalman 04-15-2009 02:55 PM

how much does it weigh? I'm sure its not much more than mine.

I just looked up its dry weight at 430 lbs. Mine is 385 dry. An 07 600rr is 345.

dReWpY 04-15-2009 06:26 PM

mine is down to 438 wet

I would say Tsunami's bike.

I had the chance to ride a 1098 but I waited too long. I was still I could later, just got to the dealer and he would hook me up with a test ride since he knew he could trust me.
