Tigger, Question about exaust location
I saw this in the thread about the new Rossi edition R1. The first thought in my mind was great place to put an exaust, the second thought I had was if the exaust location was possibly heating up the right side of the tire and brake at all?
Reason I as is that I had a car that had the exaust in front of the left rear tire, and that tire wore down 3x as fast as the rest of the tires. Quote:

BTW just noticed, is he scraping exhaust when hitting hard right-handers? Or is that just cosmetic from previous owner/bike?

Be no different than the exhaust on the 1125r if I see the pic correctly on my phone

Mine exits directly onto the left side of my tire. No noticable difference.
And while I know that it'll be putting out hotter gas while the revs are up, you can usually put your hand over the outlet of most exhausts and it's not "that" hot. I would think that the wind created would draw the heat away.. |

Not to mention, again, that the swing arm is between the exhaust and tire on the R1 |

looks like he also scraped the right side of the tail and his leathers |
