2010 WSBK testing at Phillip Island test 1
I'm curious but with the BMW putting out gobs and gobs of power with traction control and sophisticated suspension, then how come they kept running in the back of the group?

That is a conundrum... |

According to knowledgable sources includin Corser himself the BMW had a stiff chassis and sudden power delivery. The key was trying to correct the issues and then find a TC package to adapt it to diff circuits.
Toseland will get used to the Yammie but lets face it those team riders aint Ben Spies! The RSVs are probably testing new stuff at this early a test and Biaggi feels no pressure to top the sheets in testing so...Their other rider is new to the bike. |

Oh that's right...it's the rider if they win but the bike if they come up short. :lol |
First. Its a fucking test. Its unlikely that they are trying to get every last tenth out of it just yet. Second. Testing is not racing. Its fun to see how people do in testing but its not necessarily indicitive of anything. When Rossi switched from Honda to Yamaha he was NOT leading the charts in the majority of tests. Yet he won the first race and the fucking championship in the first year. Give it time people.

Your right it is just a test. Something to consider is riders on last years 1098R's were lapping with data from last year and putting up good times. They likely won't see much improvement from that point. The Yammies were not likely to be using last years baseline and probably were working on their own due to 2 new riders, the BMWs were testing new parts and so were the RSVs so they weren't even looking for a baseline yet and will likely pick up a lot over the next test. The GSXR and ZX10 squads have new riders to break in as well, but they have last years development and probably not alot more to sqeeze out. sO...It is only a test...
