Default should I buy it? older Samurai toy

A friend of mine that I do work for occaisionally has an older Suzuki Samurai sitting in his garage, and I'm thinking about buying it from him, for something like $3-400. It hasnt run in 4 years and needs a few oil leaks fixed, but nothing severe, just stuff I know how to do really.

I REALLY like how the thing looks, and the fact that its a pretty simple 4x4 to work on. what would you guys think? is it worth buying? with a clean title.

What is the purpose? To keep it stock and bee-bop?

If stock, it'll kind of nickel and dime you to death, but it'll make a great boredom project.

If modding it, there IS no limit.

They're GREAT platforms for mild rock crawlers!!! They accept a buick V6 and jeep axles to make a GREAT little weekend warrior

Either way....check out http://bbs.zuwharrie.com/

But yeah..if it's in decent shape with little/no rust....drop $400 and have yourself a project!

The nickle/dime to death thing isnt a big deal to me, I just kinda want a fairly stock basic toy.

I'd buy it as long as rust isn't an issue

Sammy owner here. Post some pics of it and I'll look it over or post them in bbs.zuwharrie.com and come join the fun.

They can be a fun money pit or a bankrupt money pit. It's all up to you to see what needs to be done to the vehicle.

I looked over it real good in person, it came from PA, so its got like one or two small rust through spots on the corners, and a few rough brake lines, but nothing I think will render it worthless, the body stuff I can have a friend fix for me, and the brakes I can handle myself.

Its not a complicated vehicle at all, which REALLY appeals, as does the lack of power(less likely to get tickets for speeding)
