After the thaw, BEWARE....
After being blasted by winter storms, snow, etc.... The roads will surely be a mess a for awhile, just keep in mind as you venture off to your favorite route that a few new bumps, potholes, repair patches etc may exists from the rough treatment it received over winter.
I took a short ride today to survey a favorite local road and there are definitely some new challenges to remember that were not present before winter and all the road scraping. But the key point is that I rode |

Good Post...And The SALT and SAND is a BIG BIG caution...
Take it easy at first until you get a good soaking rain to help wash away the roads and clean them up nicely.

I took my scooter out today. My big issue is seeing around giant snow piles while making lefts in intersections.

The roads were mostly clear, mostly needed to rain to get the salt off the middle of the roads and sides

Lots of lose gravel around here... and some brand new potholes. A couple turns went from shitty to "holy fuck why are they not fixing this?!"

As others have said, I will wait until a few good rains. We not only have salt but cinders. They like to use those on the back roads around here. If I have to guess, it will be at least April before I get in a ride, maybe even May.
Tached - this just gives you more chances to ride those bumpy roads that you commented about last year. |

sand builds up in piles in corners around here. The first few rides are fairly interesting every year.
