I was never particularly good at the double pedal (mostly because I was poor and couldn't get one on which to practice ) but we did similar stuff in college as part of our percussion ensemble.

I am so freakin out of practice with my feet it isn't even funny. I doubt I could get a bounce out of a single pedal these days. I need to set my damn drums back up. Used to play every damn day and have dozens of performances per year but there just isn't the people around in my area who play my style of music.

Included in my plans for a new house is a sound proof room in the basement so I can get back into practice. Sounds like you are way ahead of me.
