How important is fit on gear?
Once again, I have a question that sort of seems obvious but I figured if I got a thread started it would be more beneficial to other people in the long run.
As some of you may remember I got a AGV jacket with my bike. It was on the original owner when he layed the bike down and it has some light scuffing on it. However, what bothers me the most is that the jacket is a 44 and is pretty big on me. I keep telling myself I will just grow into it with time at the gym, but I now realize this may be a rediculous thought. Obviously the leather jacket is better protection then nothing, but I was sort of thinking that I wouldn't mind a new jacket and I figured that it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a jacket that fit me much better as well! Right now the arms are pretty loose on my jacket and I am pretty sure the armor in the arms would just wrap around my arm on impact and not actually reduce any of the impact. Thougths? |

Thoughts?
Yes, fit is important. Also, rather than getting a new jacket it might be easier and cheaper to get that one altered. And finally: Vote for Me for POTM! (I am PhiSig, and I approved this message!)

My recommendation? Keep that jacket, get it altered, and pick up a used set of leathers with the money you were going to spend on a new jacket. (Check forums.13x.com for cheap used gear) Why do I get the distinct impression you didn't vote for me.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I am just storming up all kinds of ideas for things to buy. I have been in Alaska all summer away from my bike. For the next 14 days I will be sitting online thinking about this kinda stuff and considering all my options.
It isn't that I voted against you, I just voted for the one that stood out to me. I even mentioned it in thread. |
