9/11
Watching the live feed of 9/11 on MSNBC. Words cannot describe..... the horror.
Where were you on 9/11? I was in the 8th grade at my tiny little catholic school. The principal came walking in slowly with a somber look and told us what happened. But they wouldnt let us turn on the tv because they said we were too young. Parents started streaming in and picking up students. My mom worked in a skyskraper in downtown Columbus, which was evacuated immediatly. I think I sat in the same spot watching the same live feed for like 5 hours.... RIP

Was doing my ob rotation in PA school. We just finished morning report and heard that a plane hit the wtc. When we went back up to the OB floor we looked out in the lobby area to see what was going on( we had a view of lower manhattan) and we saw the second plane hit the tower.
Things were slow on the OB floor so they sent us down to the ER later in the day to help. Word wa skings county was to be the first hospital outside of manhattan to take casualties. It was a crazy scene at first, all the police and fire vehicles closing the roads and setting up a command center. Then it was a whole lot of nothing, thats when we knew it was bad, either a lot of people were dead or burried in all the rubble. they sent us home around 3. I had to make a few calls to see if my dad and sister were ok since she worked in 7 world trade and my dad was at canal street. hes a volunteer fireman so he went on stand by in manhattan for a while then came home to do the same at his house while they sent more men out to help. |

I was 4 months out of college and still reeling from losing my dad 2 weeks prior. 2001 sucked.

I was at work at Staples in Framingham, MA...overheard my OA talking on the phone to her daughter in NYC say "A plane hit the World Trade Center...what?!" Didn't think much of it...thought it must be weather related...small plane lost in the fog...something like that. Hit CNN.com....servers bombed ...ABCNews.com....same thing....it's like the entire Internet shit the bed at once...we all walked downstairs to the cafeteria as there were many TVs there....came around in the corner and the first thing I saw was the first Tower falling.
I don't think I've got over the shock....or anger...from that day yet. |

I heard it on the radio on the way in to work. They said it was a small plane and it didn't seem like a big deal. Once I got to the office a client came in and gave us an update. We were trying to stay informed via the web. Like Gregman said, the internet was worthless (no TV at the office) so our updates were spotty. By 10am we had closed the office and went home to watch the events unfold.

In high school outside during band practice. Out instructor was called inside, then came right back out. Told us to stop and said that our country was under attack. We went inside and turned on the TV's. I didn't know what the hell was going on.
Forgot to say that one of the teacher's son or daughter worked at or near the trade center. I never did find out the full story. Last edited by Rangerscott; 09-11-2010 at 04:28 PM.. |
