I'd try it too. Hell, I had 20 year old gibsons at x-mas, and it was yummmmmmmmmmmmmy! 100 year old whisky should be 5x yummier!!!

Good question... a little research turns up several instances where scotch produced in the 1920's-40's and bottled in more recent decades sells for 10's of thousands.
In this case, it's a blended whisky that was produced God knows when and has been aging in the bottle for ~100 years.
It would probably be more valuable to connoisseurs if it had been cask-aging all this time, but I'm sure that between the history and rarity, it would fetch a similar price.
I'm pleased that (if I read the article correctly) they're sending some of it back to Whyte & Mackay to be analyzed. Apparently the original recipe was lost at some point and this might give them the opportunity to rediscover it.
