I like bike, bikers and messin with bikes. I like buyin em, sellin em, talkin about em, bsin about em....and, for the most part, bikers seem to be "a cut above".
So when I deal with a buttwipe, they usually stick out like a sore thumb. I've been "corresponding" with a fellow who responded to one of my CL listings, for a few days now. REALLY HOT for one of my bikes....REALLY HOT! lots of emails, I send him lotsa pics...back and forth, back and forth... Yesterday he tells me it's SOLD!!! He has loan approval, he wants the vin for insurance, wants to pick it up tonight, blah blah blah. Make appointment, he shows up at appointed time, drools over bike, I shows him inspection sticker, title, run the bike and generally burn up out an hour of time. He's ready to do the deal, hands me a cashiers check for $1100 less than agreed on price. I give him the "Well?" look. He says "Oh, yea, the bank says the loan value is only $xxxx.xx, so that's what they gave me". I give him the blank "And?" So he says "So, that's what the bike is worth." So I say "And what about your down payment?" So he says "Well, the bank guy said that's what the bike is worth, so this is what you have to sell it to me for." So I say "Really?" He gets agitated, says "Yep, you gotta sell me that bike for this amount, we agreed you 'd sell it to me". "That so?" "Yep...you gotta sell it to me, the check's all ready made out in your name." "Ok, I'll sell it to ya." "Really?" "Yup, just as soon as you come up with the other $1100." "But the guy at the bank says $xxxxxxx is the value!!!!!" "Then buy one from him." Handed him back his check, closed up the garage, the whole time he's yelling at me that I "gotta sell me the bike, gotta sell me the bike...what kinda guy are you , tryin' to rip people off???" As I walked away into the house, I told him he needed to leave. He's yellin' at me the whole time. Now he's sending me nasty emails. Cripes. Forty years old and still a little creep.

I've got my trailer up for sale on CL and so far it's been a colossal waste of my time; I've wasted several hours conversing with idiots via e-mail, taking more pics for them, asking questions that are answered in the fucking ad, showing them the trailer at home, etc. I had one person e-mail me 20x asking all sorts of questions about it and then ends it with "I think I'll go with a flatbed trailer."
The biggest douche was some guy that recently moved here from CT. He shows up in a fucking Prius and I'm thinking "OK, he must have another vehicle that can tow this with." After showing him how the trailer works, etc. I ask him what he will use it for and he says he's looking for something to tow 2 dirtbikes behind his Prius. Then he offers me 2/3 of my asking price. It was a quick "Sorry, but no thanks" from me and I sent him on his merry way. I wouldn't mind so much but right now things are very crazy for us and I don't have the patience for this ridiculous shit. At the same time I need the space in the garage and this thing needs to go, so I'm forced to deal with it. Last edited by LeeNetworX; 03-23-2010 at 08:20 AM.. |
