more services by PD and FD
so this week at work, we had gues speakers from local FD and PD
in which they informed us that they have services where PD and FD will come out to your house and inspect and make recommendations on your house for safety (burglary) and fire hazards. granted i work in a nicer community so i'm sure it's not avail in every comm. but anyways..........

Actually any security installation company worth it's salt will do the same thing for free, including fire safety. Fire codes and regulations have to be adhered to when they install fire safety devices. As far as security devices, you get what you pay for.

Laugh all you want, but last time all it took to have them turn around and walk out the door was to haul off and kick the damned thing with steel toed boots. When it didn't budge or dent (a 30 year old bank storage box), they left.

the local FD's used to offer annual inspections during fire prevention month - that fell to the wayside a few years ago because of $ and insurance concerns.

Wow! That is pretty good service. The city Commission in Tallahasse has decided now that if you are involved in an accident and the FD and EMT's are called out, you get billed for their trip
