its a rare tennessee streamside salamander, we caught four today. Its the first day of their breeding season and a buddy of mone is doing his masters research on the affects of urbanization on known populations throughout middle tn.

Cool lookin little critter there. I used to have newts and salamanders as pets when I was a kid.
I think most amphibians are affected by environmental problems first, thats why they had all the problems with those frogs up in minnesota |
