Default Another scam artist

OK, so I post my canoe on craigslist (don't use it enough and need the $$$). Couple of hours later I get an email:

Quote:
Hello there... is it still available for sale...? get back to me ASAP

is this item in perfect working condition,i also need some information
on it.
So I answer back:

"yup, I've got it. What do you need to know?"

and I get this:

Quote:
i wasn't expecting a reply this soon but thanks for replying me asap.i want to use the medium to tell you i wont be able to come and inspect the item or pay for it in cash, that is why i brought up this idea though i am not a united states citizen i am willing to buy this item as soon as possible,However am buying this for a friend who is in need of this item , i would appreciate if you allow me to pay through pay pal and i will add 100usd as shipping cost..However if you don't have pay pal account you can just log on to paypal.com and set up an account it is free easy and secure to pay and receive money through pay pal.get back to me asap.
Alright, at this point I'm only 85% sure it's a scam of some kind, so I'm going to humor them and find out how scammy this really is:

"Where do you want it shipped?"

And just like the punch line from a good comedian.....

Quote:
thanks for the mail, here is the address to ship too

Name:Akanda Abolore
Address;block 11,academy road
City:Ibadan
State:Oyo state
Country:Nigeria
23402
So here are my questions:

1) A canoe in Nigeria??????

2) How, if they deposit to my paypal account, can they scam me? My guess is that before they make the deposit to my paypal account they want some sort of deposit from me to assure them that I'll send the item.....

Other ideas?

I gave him/her/them my paypal account, i.e. my email address. You can have it too if you would like. Thing is, they'll never get the password.

If 'he' pays via PayPal, then it will be a hijacked account. You'll end up losing, somewhere along the line.

My guess is that at some point he's going to switch gears on you. It'll be payment through his escrow service or pre-payment via cheque/money order. It'll be an over payment so that you can "pay a third party" that he "owes money to in the US." The method of payment will be a forgery.

Tell him you have a great snowmobile that goes with the canoe, but he will have to send you nekkid pics of his mom holding a sign that says, "Future Nigerian Snowmobile Champion".
