Default Buddies GSXR750 Quits at 80MPH

My buddy just bought a GSXR 750 and on his way home he was on the interstate and got up to 80MPH and the bike just quite on him. but the responded again once it dropped in speed. Whats up with this? has the governor been messed with or what. Any helpful advice would be nice.

Sounds like a mapping problem to me as well.

Fuck all this. Tell your "buddy" to sign up here and ask the question himself.

What's wrong marko, you don't like trying to fix things from "he said the thingamajig was loose and wiggled around a bit, but thinks the doofrickus might be the actual problem" stories?

It only happens when he gets to 80 MPH?

Could it be the flux capacitor?

All new Suz 750 have a type of traction control in the ECU. The ECU uses rpm, gear, and throttle position to determine if it is being ridden by a complete dork and then the ECU cuts fuel and ignition appropriately.

What year gix was this, and what gear or RPM?

I don't see how a power commander would be at fault. Even if the previous owner didn't get it custom mapped, it isn't going to be SO bad that it would cause a complete shutdown at a certain speed.

Sounds like a short somewhere.
