Default Portable Air Conditioners?

Anyone have any experience with them? I can't do a window unit because the neighborhood HOA would shit a brick but I need to be able to cool down one room of the house.

There seems to be quite a few out there, so I thought I'd see if anyone has used one and can recommend one/certain features/what to look for, etc.

Anything that claims it needs no venting to the outside is bullshit.

Other than that, those things are pretty much just an A/C unit in a box with wheels.

Calculate your BTU, and realize that of all designs, this is probably the least efficient.

How so? I have a 2200 sq ft house in Texas. To get the smallest room in the house on the second floor dow to 65-70 degrees it'd probably take an hour after turning the entire a/c system down to 65 before the room would be at the correct temperature then I'd have to maintain it at that temp for a few hours at a time. I can't even imagine what my electric bill would be.

Do you have suggestions on something else?

Move from Texas. I understand it's hot there.

Don't really know what that means, but based on the calculator I found this one and it's not too pricey:

Any brand with a catchy intentional misspelling automatically loses 50% credibility in my book.

We bought our 1-story house instead of the 2-story next door because of the problems cooling the upper rooms. Summer sucks ass down here.

Don't I know it. I am trying to make chocolate and the ideal temperature is 65-70.

I did find this one:
