New toy/Saturday morning project
I bought an AR-15 kit in a group purchase. This was my first attempt to build one but it seemed to come out just fine. It really wasn't that hard...just several very small pins and springs that looked similar but weren't.

Thanks
I can tell you that the Husky tool set was $$ well spent. I've used it for quite a while in many situations...I like it alot. |

You made sure that you have the headspace done correctly, right?

Excellent. Ditto on guaging the headspace, worst case it kills the gun, best case you have lots of malfunctions from dirt in the blowback.

heh my last war carbine's barrel was so loose it had an inch of left-right play! i re-set it with slighty overtight clearances and it would put three shot groups in the same hole easy. btw, my former co gave me a free hand to modify the rifles of the company as long as i made no permanant changes
removed burst claw, added titanium firing pin (ZERO slam fires for me thank you very much) pachmeyr grip, eotech, extended bolt release, extended bolt catch, ace skeleton stock (perfect length with my armor on and much more durable for hitting people with) and a ak-74 style muzzle brake (huge signature. but our acu's dont match a goddamn thing so hiding is out. amazing amount of muzzle control though and a must for automatic support fire) oh yeah, and i used hk mags exclusively. i kinda miss that carbine. might have to build a legal replica someday. fucker was accurate, and FAST as fuck. im talking target aquisition and servicing not rpm here

Other than the joy of cursing and talking to yourself...what's the benefit to building it yourself? Save a bunch of cheddah?
