Audiobooks
hey all... look'n for some recommendations on audio books for my drive down to Mississippi.
on my drive from Fargo to AK I went through 5 books... Da Vinci Code... 9/10 Dream Catcher... 9/10 USS Indianapolis... 7/10 I Am Legend... 7/10 SOOO Much better than the movie Steven Colbert's I am America: And So Can You! Funny but didn't finish it... my trip ended I'm looking for some new ones... I've already downloaded these Band of Brothers Beyond Band of Brothers John Stewart's A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction just wondering if ya'll have any recommendations... |

Is an audio book literally just the book but read out loud so you can drive?

yeah. they have abridged and unabridged versions... abridged just means shortened... so I stay clear of those.
the people that read them have a true tallent for reading and will do each voice different and to give the words the right amount of inflection to allow you to sink into the story. I love audio books... they're awesome for road trips... but also when your just fumbling throught the world wide web bored off your ass... I've listened to all of the harry potter books... and all three Lord of the Rings as well as the Hobbit... doing that... great stories btw... |

Wow I hadn't really thought of them in the manner you described. Might have to look into a couple that I would want to hear about.
I am a strange lover of WWII history so maybe I could even educate myself a bit. Hmmmm. |

I can't seem to find Band of Brothers un abridged to download... I may just buy it when I get back to the states. anything by Stephen E Ambrose you'd enjoy if you love WWII stuff... nice thing about downloading the audiobooks is anywhere you can take your iPod you can listen... and if you do the torrent thing... your not out any money if you don't like them. |
