That site is cool but they left out 6 strokes, several rotarys and 6 stroke combustion to steam engines.

A 6 stroke uses water injection instead of fuel for 2 strokes.
The water flashes off, expands and acts on the piston like combustion would. I've only heard of it in diesel engines and it significantly lowers operating temperatures. You save a lot of weight by a smaller cooling system, but you have to carry around a tank of water. I'm also unsure if the water needs to be treated or not, or if you can fill it from a garden hose. |

There is also one with 2 pistons that face each other and the top piston uncovers the valve type area the top pston turns at half the speed of the bottom one so you get 6 strokes for the normal four.
The other one is a gas or diesel engine that also has a steam stroke by directly injecting water in to cool the engine and make a extra power stroke. |
