I forgot that the R and CR have different faces. Can you bash off the ugly R face with a Lousville Slugger and then put on a CR face?
Also, is the muffler's secondary operation a skid plate or flotation device? Wish there was a Buell dealer here. If I saw a CR for $5k, I'd hump it all the way home. |

The R's geometry isn't really different but that 'ugly face' as you call it ( ) keeps you from feeling like you're going to go over the nose if you get on the brakes.

The Cafe Racer bars were marketing hype and were a not toward the British cafe racer scene and allowed them to call it a "CR".
They were mostly unpopular, and as a result the vast majority of new CR owners opted for the high bar kit. Buell could have done what most manufacturers would have, continue to sell the bike with an unpopular stock set-up AND sell the desired upgrade for additional mark-up. Instead, Buell was slated to have all of the 2010 CRs equipped with the high bar and sell the cafe racer bars as an "option". I agree, though, that the CR bars sucked and put the rider in completely the wrong position for a naked street fighter.
