I think Rick was in the hospital for about a month. If you remember when they went to the CDC that the doctor said it was "90 days since operation __________, and 60 days since the outbreak" or something along those lines. May have been 30 days.

The zombies have no problem giong over fences if they have a reason to. In the 1st season when they went to the construction site one zombie jumped the fence fairly easily and went after them.

I think the smell of cows, horses, chickens, camp fires, etc would be plenty to draw them over some little fence since they have the ability to smell slightly stinky humans over their foul dead B.O. Not to mention the sounds.

Good call, I forgot about that part. I think soem of it depends on the condition of the zombies, soem seem to move rather good and others jsut kinda slog along. I was thinking about the scene at the construction site and how they prety much knocked down the fence, which would lead me to thing they can go over a BS chicken wire fence rather easily.

That scene was filmed at my school and I think the construction site is right next to my science building. Maybe they're just educated zombies and not retarded hillbilly zombies from rural Georgia.
