It really breaks my heart to give him away. I hope whoever is considering to adopt a family dog, please consider Roy, he really is a good dog. There are rehoming fee applied.
WTF is that shit, it breaks your heart to get rid of him, but you don't mind making some money off his ass with some dumbshit "rehome fee."

When our dog had puppies unexpectedly, we advertised a nominal fee to "adopt" them. Advertising "free puppies" really brought in the dregs of society, and if you cared at all about the pups you wouldn't let them leave with those people.

We didn't actually charge the fee to people that we let have the pups, it was just a screening.

If you went and met them in person to discuss adopting one of their pups, I doubt the "rehoming fee" would stick.

It's usually just a Bull-Shit term used by shady POS back-yard breeders who only want your money but have a really great story about why they can't keep their beloved pet. My theory is if they lie about that, they are probably lying about the health of the animal and condition of their shots, etc.

I understand not advertising for Free as that's just stupid but if they truly just need to find their pet a home they wouldn't be charging, they would be happy to find someone responsible that wanted them and waive the 'fee' when they did.

That makes sense.

I can see the listing for a fee to keep dregs away now too. Yeah, from doing a garage sale, I can totally relate to wanting to keep the worthless away from your pets.

So how do you tell if someone is going to take care of your pet? Just because they appear intelligent & well-spoken doesn't prove jack.

Good point, may as well not make any effort or take any precautions and just leave them in a box in the front yard (or hallway for you big city folk).

Craigslist does not allow the sale of dogs in some states, because of the potential for their use as fighting animals.

The "rehoming fee", is a way to get around those rules.
