Default Track Videos at VIR

Was there Monday and Tuesday. I have found the end of my Toyo R888's. Apparently 30 sessions.

I kept waiting for you to wind up in the outfield. What is your lap time on a good set of tires?

VIR Full is one of my favorite courses, but those uphill esses make your forearms BURN trying to convince your bike to go left right left right at high speed.

2:10 on a good set. The track was really greasy and limited grip was an issue.

That's pretty good considering the bike/car speed delta on the back straight. You guys must carry some wicked corner speed from T1 through the snake to make up all that time! From the video, speeds through the esses, rollercoaster, and hogpen looked fairly comparable.

I almost ran out of talent at the top of the esses. It took everything I had to keep my foot in the throttle when the backend started sliding around.

That's one of my favorite passing areas on a bike, between the last right of the esses and the hard left that feeds you downhill.

Here's one of my vids for comparison. One of my faster laps, a 2:03, starts at about 8:30 in the video. But the speed difference between us on the straights has to be worth all that and more.

Great vid ! A couple of guys I run with can pull a 2:03 if everything is right and no traffic. FTD was a 1:57 in a tube chassis Z06. (Lou Gigliotti) We had a couple of real racers there showing us skills. John Heinracy, Andy Pilgrim and Lou.

Good grief, sub 2:00 in a car is insane. I would love to drive the track that fast once just to see what the cornering forces are like; it's gotta wear you out pretty fast. All my high speed stuff has been on two wheels.

I'll be at VIR Grand in August for the Chump Car Championship though, so I'll finally get to see what it's like to drive a car there. But I think getting our '87 Prelude to turn a 2:03 would require taking a shortcut through North Course.

I hope to ride VIR this year on the bike. I've heard fantastic things about the track.

I'd love to try it in a vette as well. That just looked flatout fun
