In Jersey its Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle...2 Point ticket...Got one when a Cop pulled me over for No license No Insurance Unclear Plate and the Failure to yield to the Cop...He said I didn't pull over right away and he thought i was going to evade him...I responded with the shoulder was not wide enough and I felt unsafe pulling over when he first put his lights on so I pulled into a gas station
Boy that court date was fun

And did you win that court date?
And that is my POV on the Nee guy moving. Maybe he felt like he had no where to go. Light WAS red. As I have said many times, I have family that are LEO, so I have a very short fuse when it comes to asshole cops, and ones that abuse the power. |

True, and you'd think a cop would remember that. But what the fuck grounds does the guy have to file a complaint against the cop? Fact is, the law is to yield to emergency vehicles and he didn't. I hope he gets a serious fine, if not a couple days in the clinker to think about his stupidity. |

Maybe I'm playing devils advocate...
But there is no law that says "run a red to get out of the way of a cop car" |

He didn't HAVE to run a red! He'd been stopped for about 5-10 seconds already, and he had a clear path to make a right hand turn (in FL, you can make a right on red, unless it's indicated not to).

I was cruising down Interstate 81 yesterday....all the sudden the Statey behind me flips on his lights and goes flying down the hiway. He gets behind some traffic and at about 75mph he GOES INTO THE GRASS MEDIAN to pass the traffic. INSANE. Dirt was flying everywhere.

Same turn on red laws here....
But what you saw as an obvious exit may not have been as obvious from his POV. All he probably saw was cop lights and a red light in front of him... a little tunnel vision. But to get a ticket for that... hmm... bad idea I think. |

Ah from the guy's attitude (i.e. the throwing his hands up in the air, etc...) I think it looked more like he didn't want to be inconvenienced to have to turn when he wanted to go straight. But yeah I can see where the lights behind you can kind make your spinchter pucker.
