Homeless man found dead and halfway buried in ice in a building. Front page of the Detroit News today. Complete with a picture and all. A lot of controversy on whether or not they should have printed the picture.

News is news. Our media gives the people what they want. I'm sure thier daily sales were higher than usual.

Maybe, sometimes they do that to sell papers, but hopefully it gets the point across.

I think that sensationalism sells newspapers. I also think that the almighty dollar has over ridden any sense of proriety in reporting hence why I generally now refer to it as "media", rather than "news."

There was nothing gruesome about it. They didn't show the guys face so no big deal to print the pic.
