I lost myself today
So I'm in Gettysburg for work this week, took the afternoon off went riding by myself. I started off by cruising the battlefield a bit, which other than the monuments everywhere sucked because of all the traffic and people. Add in I was in full leathers, under the sun in 90 degree weather.
Finally after climbing one of the observation towers, I sorta spotted a funish looking road, went back down, jumped on the bike and went. Mostly nice roads some twisties, but with long stretches of nothing but farm land. Then I kept turning corners trying to go toward this one mountain, which I never got to. Then finally after a while I decided to come back for dinner, and my GPS was dead, it would start up and immediately let me know the battery was dead and the shut itself off. So I'm lost in PA, no clue where to go from there. I hadnt seen another person in a good half an hour and no houses around, no people. I stopped had a smoke and a park ranger walks out of the woods behind me. Thank god. I asked him where I was, and the first words out of his mouth was Cunningham state park. Like I really knew where that was? Turns out I was 20 miles into Maryland in a state park. Damnned if I knew how I got there. Anyway he gives me directions to get back, which only required 2 turns (nice!). And I'm back here an hour later. Moral of the story.... I should have turned off the GPS last night when I got back.

Went to Gettysburg last yr. Did the whole driving tour with the wife, and if you don't have a map good luck.
did see some signs for free range eggs, goats milk, and fresh free range goat cheese.. |

i live 20 mins. from gbg. the novelty has worn off for me. cunningham falls? that's quite a detour, derf. while you're in gbg. go hit up the pike restaurant. it's the closest you'll come to a biker bar in that town.
