If possible, check the parents out, sometimes they can be a little odd in the head. Some friends have one that stares at the wall all day and attacks shadows, aunt had one that would randomly attack tires (bicycles with children attached, trailer tires, truck tires, etc.) But thats not limited to heelers.

I dunno if you'd call it "dog aggressive" or just badly socialized. Whatever it is, I try to give them a wide berth when his owners are walking him. Lilly either doesn't interpret his signals correctly or is just being stubborn and wants to go see what the hell his problem is.

Anyone have experience with giving their dogs enzyme powders? Trying to get rid of Puggys stank breath. Vet said it wasn't her teeth or gums.

And then there are the "Oh he never does that!" owners. Really lady? Because this is the third time your dog has lunged at mine. Your memory must match your training ability..

Well, I won't sit here and play like mine is the very model of doggy discipline.
She's very energetic and wants to go check out other dogs whenever they're around.
Well intentioned, but I can certainly see where her enthusiasm might be mistaken.
The offending blue heeler I was mentioning, however, never gave her the chance to make the wrong impression.

Australian sheperds are the second pic you posted. the first is the Australian Cattle dog (heeler). They did originate in Australia

Oh gawd. Can anyone assist with digging? Or um, throwing oneself at doors and windows?

Was cleaning the garage earlier, and lo and behold, the rescue comes trotting around the the house. He had just finished digging and utilizing the most recent mariana trench under my fence. Tied him up in the garage and let all 3 play while I cleaned the garage, brought them back out to play while I picked up the house and within 5 minutes he was digging a hole on the OTHER side the house, under the fence.

Now, it's bedtime, according to his owner he was an outside dog, but he periodically throws himself at the back door and starts scratching. Or at the window next to the bed.

I put his new rabies tag on him in case he gets out, again, like he did last night, our fault, and I have him tied by the collar on a long rope where he can reach the porch, but not the fence. Have I mentioned how much I HATE tying a dog up?

Any ideas?

when we were checking out that pit yesterday we passed this huge pup who was literally doing backflips at the sight of another dog. paperwork said it was some kind of an airdale mix but it looked for all the world like a doberman with normal ears and a brindle coat. guy said he'd been there the longest
