 OK, so I supervised the event - I didn't ride. I rode during the week. I normally don't ride my events, if something were to happen to me during an event it would be a REALLY bad day for everyone. But, yes - it's about conditioning and a LOT of hydration. Water can only do so much - I do one water with nuun to every two bottles of water.
