I think I might have screwed up...
I went to camp-out this weekend, and met up with a bunch of dual-sport buddies for riding, late-night drinking and general partying.
There was a small improvised shooting range on site, and one of the riders broke out her brand new .38, and asked me if I'd teach her to shoot it. I'd only met her maybe twice before, and I don't know why she asked me, but I said sure, no problem. So, I gave her my standard safety lecture, showed her how to load it, and gave her some basic instruction. She did OK for a n00b, and that was the end of that... Fast forward to later that night: I found her crying her eyes out, and asked her what was wrong. Turns out she was recently widowed, and she spent the next two hours crying on my shoulder. Huge drama. This morning, I find out that her husband "accidentally" shot himself while cleaning a gun. So, basically, I just showed a grieving woman whose husband may have committed suicide, how to load a gun. Pretty fucking smooth huh? Shit. JC
