Facebook fun
I am on Facebook, but I keep it lighthearted, nothing serious and little to no personal info. FB has "places" where it checks you in at various locations so your friends can see where you all the time for reasons unknown to me. Anyway, I don't like the idea of this at all. That is, anyone tracking my location and blasting it all over for the world to see. So... I found a free app in the Android Marketplace called "Location Spoofer."
It's easy, you simply pick a place on the map and set it. The app defaults to that location for one minute, but it's configurable. Then, you launch the browser and go to http://touch.facebook.com. (Places is supported in the Android app) Anyway, you click the pin/balloon thing and share your location and it reads it from the GPS which is getting erroneous information from the spoofer app. Result, you can be anywhere you want, to your FB friends. |
