Ummm.... you could always buy a GSXR750 and all the suspension (newest latest,at that) components and engine mods you could stand with $45,000 dollars. No offense but 10 year old Ohlins isn't any better than what is being put on new sportbikes stock right now. Also,I'd imagine that the GSXR makes more power (R7 106 bhp per Yamaha, btw) ,has a higher rev limit, more torque, WAY better brakes, lighter rims (if not may I suggest Dymag/Blackstone carbon fiber hoops!), lighter bike overall, better computer/ fuel injection, slipper clutch, better clutch/trans period (I was riding Yamahas in the mid-late 90s, clutches and trans were JUNK!).
Now don't get me wrong as a collector's bike,I'm with you guys but I'm guessing you'd be in for some disappointment performance-wise if you compare it to the new bikes. Besides,$35,000 buys a hell of alot of upgrades and accessories!!! Oh and I can't resist but Yamaha got spanked so bad in AMA superbike during '99 and '00 by Suzuki (who didn't produce a "cheater bike" btw) that they gave up the class entirely until recently.....
