I feel ya...granted, my nanny was in the hospital when she died, but I was there when she took her last breath. It's almost surreal watching someone close to you (I lived with her most of my life) slip away from you...you know what I mean by that.
As far as needles, I've had them in more places than I care to mention...I am O- RH- and had to have rhogam shots with both my kids. IVs, epidurals, spinal taps (5 in one sitting cuz the asshole couldn't hit the right spot...we threw him out of the room and called the hospital admin to come do it. I was partially paralized for a week!), dental shots, perinial shots, blood drawn from the artery... The dental shots I could handle, IV was a bitch, but I could handle it...epidural wasn't even all that bad. The ones that hurt were the spinal taps, perinial shots and artery draw. I'll take a tattoo any day over those. |

fuck needles. I had my tonsils out when I was in grade school and the nurse took about 10 minutes to put the IV in - it took almost 2 months for the bruise to go away. Since then I haven't been able to stand 'em.
