and has been banned from our club recently (the ban might have been lifted - but he's a very controveresial rider in this neck of the woods)

I don't know the man - only what I hear of him - which is what marketing and sponsorship is all about. Based on his "reputation" I wouldn't say he's a good rep. for his sponsors.
