Of all the autocratic pricks!
I live in a townhouse complex. There are a lot of kids in the neighbourhood. I just came home from work to find a note in my mailbox, from the property manager stating, "Your children are not permitted to Trick or Treat." It says that candy will be given out at the management office, which is about three blocks away, and any donations can be made there before Sunday.
And these fuckers think that their "...are not permitted..." counts for shit?

They can't stop shit. An apartment building might be one thing, and that's where the management office that they're talking about is, but townhouses are something else all together.
I'm considering sending a copy of their note to the local newspaper. They're always looking for a good story.

Only thing I could think of is it could be considered soliciting. Some cities have been banning over 12 year olds from trick or treating. I can kinda agree with that. Punks should be out getting drunk and causing mayhem, not scaring little old ladies giving out candy to actual kids.

is there an association? did you sign anything when you got the house saying that you would abide by association rules? They cant stop anyone from visiting friends on halloween in costume, but they might be able to forbide begging for food, which is soliciting, Especially if they get enough complaints

My sister, who lives across the street and received the same note, is probably going to take it to a local TV station that's known for running sensationalist stories. I can see it now: PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY HATES KIDS!

I got a note from one of my very religious neighbors saying his kids will be by my house on Saturday to trick or treat, since they aren't allowed to do it on Sunday.

Send him a note telling him that on Saturday you usually have "full nudity day" at home, and that this would perhaps be an inappropriate time.
