Default Soooo.... is this bad??

So as some know, I work as a tech at a Ford dealer. We recently had this very clean red 1999 F-150 Lightning come through as a trade in. A lot of us in the shop were eyeballing it, and drove it a few times (it ran VERY good, lol.... had a number of aftermarket goodies)

Anyways, the truck sold yesterday, and the guy that bought it (one of the sales guys brothers) wanted another key cut. So they gave it to me, I cut and programmed a new key, and parked it back out on the lot. Salesman took it around front shortly after and got it ready for the guy to pick up. He left our dealer and made it literally 1 mile down the road on the interstate (our dealer is right next to the highway), he heard a pop noise, fluid sprayed all over the windshield, aaannnddd....

(got this pic from my general manager this morning, I wasn't there)

So I get to work this morning, everybody says "Hey Jonathon (my service manager) was just looking for you... he looked PISSED!" (mind you he's never serious about much of anything). So a couple minutes later he comes up to me looking all serious, says "come here for a minute we gotta talk", and walks outside behind the shop saying "you remember that red F-150 you worked on yesterday?". I'm like yea I cut a key for it. He says... "you sure that's all you did??", and pointed down over the hill at the truck sitting there. I was like HOLY S**T!! Then he couldn't keep a straight face any longer and busted up laughing cuz he had me going for awhile there, lol

But yea... there she sits in her crusty glory. Absolutely trashed.... everything except the rear

Dudes cell phone is still sitting in the center console

Master cylinder was completely melted off

The interior was absolutely MINTY in this thing

Luckily and most importantly, nobody was injured in this whole ordeal. The driver was by himself and was able to get out and away from it without harm, though he was pretty shaken up from what I hear. We really don't know what happened, though we think maybe a fuel line ruptured or popped off (somebody may have had it off and didn't snap it back in all the way). Who knows...it could have been something in the heap of aftermarket stuff that was on it too, or somebody that had worked on it prior (not me!!). I'm sure the insurance company will be out before too long to analyze the situation

Oddly enough... I was actually pondering trying to buy this truck myself but decided against it cuz I need something a little more practical. Kinda glad I did, hahaha. I wish I had some before pictures, it was a very very clean Lightning

Then, maybe the guy buying it should have given it a once-over before driving it.

It's unfortunate that it happened. Incredible pictures. Actually, more incredible that no one was hurt.

Accidents don't always have to be someone's "fault."

No doubt. Good to see the "it's someone else's fault, sew 'em!" mentality lives on.

Just so I'm clear... if I trade in a car that's in perfect working order, then that car is driven by several dealership employees for a period of time before being purchased and eventually burning up on the new owner after he drives it for a while, you want to sew me?

I repeat: I hope you're not serious.

Clearly. I have no idea how I misinterpreted you so badly.

I guess calling me a dick head is easier than saying you were wrong?
