burnt a couple holes in the A* cargo pants... jacket held up well... don't think the gloves touched... and the boots... you really can't tell.
granted I only slid about 5-10' |

You might wanna 'splain to the folks how many pounds of crap you had riding on the pillion. Sport bikes wheelie at will with a passenger on the back and I image all your electronics, clothes, and camping equipment were at least that heavy. Add popping the clutch and yeah you could go over quick.
Get the bike naked and fixed enough to ride safely and practice up on your stunting, then you can pretty it up again after you have mastered the wheely!

Um geared down is an understatment..I know the 1 down/2 up formula is popular but that is a big difference from stock. I am running 15/45 on an original 15/43 bike and it is noticeable, so I am guessing your 14/45? That makes first gear like Stage One of a shuttle launch!
