I had good results velcroing the camera to the top of the tank bag and wearing the strap around my neck.

Someone needs to show these dudes how to hang off a bike. You wouldn't need that much lean angle if you shift ur ass off the seat.
Nice pics anyways.

When I went to my VTX rally in Denver, CO I started taking pics on the fly like that. My camera was a smaller Sony Cybershot but I hung it from the strap over my neck like normal. I would just work it all left handed and hold it up to take shots. Granted only about 30% of them came out decent and you have to be real careful not to put too much attention on the camera but it works... here's a couple I took (wish my camera was as good as his)...
I thought this one was cool... over the shoulder... My problem was having the windshield on the bike then, I had to raise the camera way up to clear it but it let me get some good scenery shots as I was riding that I wouldn't have other wise. I was riding 3-400+ miles/day all 4 days I was out there so not a lot of stops for picture taking

I think the biggest issue for me is gonna be my camera's weight. I dunno if I can take photos holding the camera the way he does, unless it's strapped to my hand.
I can hold it the way he does, but the camera is a bit heavy to hold out over the road just trusting my grip. I can hold it kinda cradled in my hand better... but again dunno if I'd feel safe holding my $1500 camera out there.... but I'm gonna work on it... try and get some good photos on my road trips. seeing as I don't like stopping very often or much. be cool to get some shots of the rally this way... but being on the DRZ, might be tough to keep up. really gotta figure out something for storage those are pretty good shots eric |
