It's mainly just work with a pinch collar and lot's of practice. I try and take Sammi out at least twice a day, even if it's just for 5 mins. She's been doing great! We've been through basic obedience, long leash, protection, and some off leash. I wish we had more time to keep training before we move. Here's Tex...he's a rescue too. One of the luckiest dogs in the world. Alicia pulled him out of hell the day before he was about to be put down. He was a stray, found covered in oil, had mange all over, underweight....he was in bad shape. That's was six years ago...this is him now...unbelievable! Here's Tex and Sammi... Sorry to hijack your thread Ambly. |

Thanks, but I can't take any credit for him. My girlfriend got him way before we ever met. I don't know if I could've done what she did with him. Amazes me.

Great looking pups, nice to see the rescues on both of you.
I have already decided that when I settle down I would like to get maybe another Jack Russell, female if I can find one via a rescue. Then maybe another rescue dog after the other settles in. No care for breed, just wanna rescue one. |

Youre telling me... I still get sick to this day thinking about what Tex went through before I pulled him out of animal control.. I want to kill his first owners for letting him suffer like that..

Might still be a while however before I add to my family. I would like to get a house with a big back yard with a fence. Once I get all of that straightened out, I am off to the rescue. I got my JRT a while ago knowing that I would be living in apartments through college and while I wanted a small dog, I wanted a very capable little dog. No purse dogs! Anyways at 3 years of age he has settled in quite well, but I would like to add another for his company once I get settled into a real job. And I have to add a bit of pup love after talking about the lil dude. Shadow: |
