Sweet as hell.
I hate when the blue painters tape does that. I guess the green stuff, gator tape?, isn't suppose to do that. |

I saw that new green gator tape and I was like "no way, that is expensive as fuck for a roll of tape"... but now I am wondering if it really does work better... if so It's worth the price for areas that require fine detail IMO.

Yeah Ive been wondering if that green frog tape that we have at the depot is actually worth the $9+ a roll. If I get bored at work tonight Ill pull a roll off the shelf and test it out for you guys.

For fine detail work, if that stuff does what it's advertised to do, I'd say it's worth it. Otherwise you'll end up doubling the time you spend and spending the same money because your OCD-ass will be sitting there with car pinstriping and an exacto knife like me More importantly, where are the strippers?

As promised I gave the frog tape a shot today at work. I grabbed one of the 2 inch rolls that retails at a little under 12 bucks, put a couple pieces on a paint stick and painted around them. I painted over the edge of the tape like most painters would and after it dried peels the tape back off. Nothing special to it. Heres the final result...
Perfectly clean edges. I was kind of skeptical but was honestly very impressed. If clean lines is something that youre anal about while painting, this is definitely the tape for you. |
