A herd of free-range Roombas might help. They'd also drive the pets nuts.

i use those little pledge handheld pet hair sweepers in between vacuuming to keep the hair off my couches. they work decent. i, too, have constant pet hair issues.

No doubt. But there are some insane deer in these parts too. Question, did this nuclear deer have 3 eyes?

Between the border collie, golden retriever, GSD/Dobie mix, and the BF's little beagle, there is an abundance of dog hair. His beagle sheds worse than all of the other three combined. Bought him a Roomba for Christmas (hey, it's what he wanted!). The thing rocks! At my house, the animals aren't allowed on the furniture. At his house, it's a different story. :-(

Just got done vacuuming the house, and read this thread.... damn dog. I'm somewhere between wanting and needing a new vacuum - thinking dyson should do it this time. And, after vacuuming the rug so much - there's no way in hell I'd let my pets on the furniture. FWIW, we have one rug and the rest is tile/pergo/cement... it STILL makes me crazy.

One of my cats likes it when you rub him with that fiancee always yells at me not to. I tell her its preemptive. i am taking the hair off the cat before he puts it on the clothes or furniture.

Roomba 3x / week on the main floor FTW. And then 10 minutes / week with the stand-up vacuum. The only dog hair that doesn't pick up is on their beds and their blankets.
