I've used eye-dee-ten-tee (spelled differently ahem) several times.

I hate calling them docking stations cause I have a true docking station at work for my HP Elitebook. It locks in the laptop with levers... it works great. I would have bought a similar setup but those Elitebooks are CRAZY expensive! |

Oh for sure. Or like my company. They deleted 7 and installed XP. But then again at least XP is stable.

Win7 is pretty damned stable and compatible, if you go for the 32 bit version. Vista, however, was a steaming pile of shit. So much so, in fact, that they had to rename it "Windows 7" instead of "Windows Vista Service Pack 3", or the like, because no one would buy it.

Yeah I just got my first taste of 7 with my new personal laptop I got last week. It is very vista like. The new one came with 64bit. Why I don't know. My old laptop is vista and while everybody hates it. I've had little to no problems with it.

Al of the manufacturers seem to be shipping with 64 bit now. Not as much of a problem as it was in the past, because at least the peripheral manufacturers are making drivers for their stuff on 64 bit OS now. You also need 64 bit OS to use more than roughly 3.5GB of system RAM.

I tried Vista for 6 hours before reverting back to XP. So far, even though 7 seems similar, I've had zero issues other than MS moving all the controls and me having to get used to it again.
